By insisting he didn't resign from West Virginia and demanding to be reinstated as coach, Huggins has turned a disheartening final public chapter into an embarrassing one. And for what?
I also love Attorney Campbell's statement, "If only WVU had taken the weekend..." Well, if only Coach Huggins had taken an Uber or had someone else drive the university owned / leased vehicle, he would have avoided the predicament he's in. It's a liability for WVU to continue to employ Huggins.
I find it interesting that this particular lawyer claims that his case in Pittsburgh “close to being fully resolved without charges.” Well, he's been charged and his waived his preliminary hearing. Huggins may be eligible for ARD because it's a 1st offense. (The 2004 DUI is too remote in time to be factored in.) Well, it's an election year. The long time incumbent Steve Zappala is hanging on for dear life.
The docket sheet for Huggins lists Robert DelGreco along with 2 Wheeling WV lawyers, Wilmouth and Fitzsimmons as his counsel - not this other guy. I believe that Huggins offered to resign and retire and WVU accepted it. End of story.

Sad story for such an accomplished coach!!
